The IRA total return in 2009 was 23.30% compared to 22.46% for the Dow, 26.31% for SPY and 5.56% for BRK. This is not a lifeboat portfolio but I did get a little more conservative in 2009.
The 12 funds in the IRA on 1/1/2009 were BTFTX, DODFX, FAIRX, FICDX, FLPSX, SGENX, OAKBX, LSBDX, PRPFX, PRWCX, RYVFX, TAVFX. The 14 funds in the IRA on 12/31/2009 were BTFTX, FAIRX, FICDX, FLPSX, SGENX, OAKBX, NBGNX, LSBDX, PRPFX, PRWCX, RYPRX, TAVFX, VFIIX, WASAX. All things considered I am pleased with the perfomance. My only regret was selling DODFX which I continue to own in my Roth IRA. It is smaller and more aggressive than the IRA.
