The funds in the scan were FRTXX, FBIDX, VWENX, NYVTX, VIIIX, VIGIX, MGOYX, LRSYX, FDIVX, WOTDX, WFOBX, WFOOX and an ING stable value fund. The data for the stable value fund for Texas are on a ING web page. No data were found on employee allocations so a unifrom allocation was included in the scan for comparison.

State of Illinois 401k (457) Plan Scan 11/30/2008

The latest employee asset allocation data were for 2006 and at that time they had just over $1B in one fund, ACRNX. The plan made small "watch list" changes in the last year or so. H.B. Fuller 401k (TP) PSDS Scan 11/30/2008 Data
The H.B. Fuller employees have most of their money in company stock (FUL) and a Wells Fagro stable return fund DSVG1 while the Balanced fund has no money in FUL or any fund with a negative 5yr Sharpe ratio. The funds in the scan were FUL, VFINX, DSVG1, WFGBX, VISGX, PTTRX, JAVLX, SMCDX, ACSTX, MGRAX, DODFX, GSSMX where VFINX is a proxy for WFVEX and VISGX is a proxy for WFSAX neither of which have 5yr data yet.

Toro 401k (PSP) PSDS Scan 11/30/2008 Data
The Toro scan is unusual in that the Wells Fargo Stable Return Fund DSVG1 and company stock TTC dominate the Employee portfolio while the Balanced porfolio puts almost everthing in the stable return fund DSVG1. The 3D image shows the isolation of the Balanced fund which has a very low standard deviation while all the mutual funds and company stock are quite volatile. I should also point out that DSVG1 is not FDIC insured which is not good but normal for most funds.

U.S.Government 401k (TSP) Scan 11/30/2008
The funds in the scan were the same as the earlier scan; Fund G, Fund F, Fund C, Fund S, and Fund I. The Balanced portfolio by rule has money in only funds with positive 5yr Sharpe ratios and here that means only Fund G and Fund F. The uniform portfolio has equal amounts in all five funds. The 3 equity funds track the S&P500 Index (Fund C), the Wilshire 4500 Index (Fund S) and the EAFE Stock Index (Fund I). As you can see in the 3D image the Balanced portfolio is basically Fund G with a small amount of Fund F. In December of 2007 the TSP plan added several Lifecycle funds designated L Income, L 2040, L 2030, L2020, L2010 and these will be in future scans.

Scientific Atlanta 401k Before 2005 CISCO Buyout
I planned to scan the Scientific Atlanta 401k only to find they had been bought by CISCO in 2005. I went ahead and looked at the Funds in the 2005 401k with more than 5% of the plan which included company stock. The stock was selling at 33 on 12/31/2004 per the 11-k filing and CISCO paid 43 in cash for the company stock. Unlike recent events with company stock in almost every company down sharply, here was a case where the Employee's 401k portfolios benefited from their company stock holdings. I liked that. The FMIP2 symbol stands for the Fidelity Managed Income Portfolio II which is not traded on a public exchange.

Moody's 401k (PPP) PSDS Scan 10/31/2008
The Moody's 401k (Profit Participation Plan) was scanned earlier without the company stock, MCO, and two trust funds. Those are included in this 10/31/2008 scan with very different market data. The funds in the scan were NMIRX, FBIDX, PTTRX, LZEMX, MLAAX, RWR, GCMAX, FFFAX, FFFFX, FEQIX, FLPSX, FMCSX, FDIVX, FSEMX, FSIIX, FC5024, and MCO where NMIRX is a proxy for a Fidelity stable value fund that has most of the employee money, FC5024 is a Fidelity SMA trust named "US Equity Index Commingled Pool" and the Balanced portfolio has money only in funds with positive 5yr Sharpe ratios.

SAIC 401k (RP) PSDS Scan 10/31/2008
The SAIC 401k (Retirement Plan) has money in company stock (SAI) but it has only been a public company for a couple of years and no 5yr data are available. The funds in the scan were VBMFX, VBSIX, VFINX, VMMXX, VMCIX, VDMIX, VWNDX, VWIGX, PTTRX, NAESX, VSCGX, VSMGX, VASGX, DODGX, TRMCX, LLSCX, MGEMX, RPMGX, VEXPX, VTENX, VTXVX, and VPMCX. I only included a couple of Target Retirment funds because most had very little money in them.
Stanton & Castleton IRA PSDS Scan 10/31/2008
The Stanton & Castleton IRA has been rebalanced to reflect market changes and a few new funds were added to reduce volatility. The funds in the scan were BTFTX, DODFX, FAIRX, FICDX, FLPSX, LSBDX, OAKBX, PRPFX, PRWCX, RYVFX, SGENX, TAVFX and FIDXX. The FIDXX fund is a proxy for a money market fund and OAKBX was added when it reopened and became available. The numbers have changed a lot since July and like everyone in the market that change was a reduction. The LSBDX bond fund is now yielding 11% at current market prices for the fund which is down almost 30%.
