PSDS Portfolio Stress Test 7-31-2015

This is a work in progress. PSDS simulation software has the ability to simulate the failure of a portfolio in the period covered by the Market data in the scan; here 5 years. The elasticity and strength of materials is my background and I have used PSDS software for stress testing my portfolio in retirement.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals 401k Plan PSDS Scan 7-31-2015

This is the largest 5yr Company Stock  APR% I have seen. It was down sharply in 2016 which is not covered in this design scan that used 7-31-2015 market data.

If VRX is removed from the portfolio the Balanced Portfolio scan data are APR = 12.90
STD = 6.88 and PSR = 1.87. That's all for now.

A Cerner Corp.Retirement Portfolio PSDS Scan 7-31-2015

After posting this Scan I noticed VGT not VGK was used in the portfolio.  VGT covers information technology not European REIT investments. The last 5 years VGT investments have out performed VGK investments.

After VGT was changed to VGK the scan changed a little as seen below

A Gilead Sciences "Index Fund" Retirement Portfolio PSDS Scan 7-31-2015

The SEC 11-k report for GILD was hard to track down. I think Fidelity is their fund trustee but I am not sure and I designed this portfolio based on Fidelity and Vanguard Index Funds posted in the New York Times and WSJ on 4-10-2016.  I also included company stock GILD which is a well above average stock.

A 2008 Study Portfolio PSDS Scan 12-31-2008

In this study I looked at the 2008 market crash using  5yr 12-31-2008 5yr Market data. The study shows that one good stock can be enough if the  portfolio has just three basic index funds; AGG, DIA, and SPY.  That's not a surprise because the Balanced portfolio has all the money in CHD and AGG. The uniform portfolio return drops to the AGG return as the scanner graphic shows. More interesting 2008 portfolios are next.
